Sidewinders

Soul jazz. We love it! The sensation caused by soul jazz fifty years ago, we bring it all back live on stage now with our Amsterdam based quintet The Sidewinders.

We play the best compositions of our heroes from the famous Blue Note label (Horace Silver, Cannonball Adderley, Hank Mobley) in the classical line up of trumpet, tenorsax and rhythm section. And our own compositions in the same vein. Music from the beginning of the sixties, when modern jazz was influenced by gospel, latin and boogaloo and became funky. The groove as tight as the drainpipe-trousers, and the solo’s as pointed as the shoes!

We played the International Jazz Festival in Havana Cuba (Jazz Plaza 2020), legendary clubs like the Melkweg(Jazzbop hosted by dj Graham B) and the North Sea Jazz Club, Goois Jazz Festival, Paris cafe’s, lots of parties.
